    Spot on.. Germans generally have rather low EQ, and have very little or no awareness how they come across. Very little norms of politeness that exists are usually spoon-fed in Kindergarten, and they are usually part of social norms, and not to be confused with any genuine heartfelt warmth or affection.
    Additionally, Germans consider only and only racist hate crime as racism (that too not always), which means there is staggeringly high everyday casual racism (from housing / job market discrimination to death stares from elderly Germans)
