Moving to the Uk

My British partner of 25 years, two children (who now have UK passports) and I (Australian) are currently living in Australia but planning to move to the UK for a year. They can work and attend school but I am the problem! Should I consider getting a EU passport through my hungarian father (rather vexed with Brexit and Hungary may no be high on the welcome list). Should I rather go the spouse route (we aren't actually married but would if that would help). Thoughts and suggestions would be welcome
