Keith Grafton - Love in Unprecedented Times, an Artsy online exhibition, 27 Nov 2020 to 27 Feb 2021

‘Love in Unprecedented Times’, is an Artsy online-exclusive show presented by Baron Grafton Arthouse, which will open on 27th November 2020 and continue until the 27th February 2021. Showcasing Keith Grafton’s selection of limited edition digital photographic works from his ‘Techno Love’ and ‘Falling in Love with You’ series, both produced during the pandemic. In this exhibition Grafton explores love during Covid-19, contrasting analogue and digital ways to connect, find love and ease loneliness today.

Covid-19 has challenged our values and priorities, our health and lifestyle habits as well as bringing a close perspective on our mortality and the importance and benefits of love in our lives. If finding true love has always been in the best of the cases hard work and challenging, in Covid times it has become nearly an epic event.

The use of mobile phones and dating apps has surged significantly during confinement as a gateway to connect, ease stress and find love over video chats. While all looks like some dates will still start on Zoom and many Covid-19 dating trends may stick, Keith Grafton believes that while we need physical interaction, intimacy, touch and smell to form long lasting relationships, the biology of love will always win. In his ‘Techno Love’ series, Keith Grafton explores the thrilling sensorial experience of being in love. While in ‘Falling in Love with You’, he takes us into the playfulness aspects of love where we play at ‘show and hide’ different aspects of our personalities in order to attract the ideal love partner. Ultimately he concludes, the how is less important, as love is all that matters at the end.

From being a self-taught photographer, he trained later on in modern photography, image manipulation and mixed media painting at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts in London.
