An exhibition on view at the Museum of Sonoma County (Santa Rosa) through July 19, 2020.
From 19th century California artists inspired by nature, to contemporary artists who have broken from traditional perspectives and embraced new technologies to address climate change and other important issues, the artist's relationship to landscape has evolved. "Landscape: Awe to Activism" explores this relationship through diverse artworks including painting, photography, and video. Over 20 artists are featured in this exhibition, including: Ansel Adams, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Diane Burko, Thomas Hill, William Keith, Richard Mayhew, Richard Misrach, Sebastiao Salgado, and Maynard Dixon.
