VoIP in Kuwait?

Posted in Kuwait forum

Is it true that you can't use any VoIP services in Kuwait? How do expatriates talk/see their friends abroad?

Website censorship of a lot of social sites, such as Facebook, puts a lot of burden on the social networks of expats who move to Kuwait. How do you cope?

To me it seems unfair to ask expatriates who have lived abroad and are used to certain freedoms to be thus restricted.

I have used a few service providers like Voipdiscount, Skype, RingtoIndia, Rebtel, Airtel Global Talk and Freecallee. My two cents,

-Voipdiscount has increased their rates to 1.7c/min.
-Skype Quality is not good. Also, there is connection fee.
-RingtoIndia provides at 1c/min. Pretty good rate. But Quality is very bad.
-Rebtel has managable quality. Only their subscriptions provide cheap rates and I don't use 3000 minutes in a month.
-Freecallee quality is Excellent. Rates are 1.2c/min only. They have recently launched a Flexible talk plan where you can call as low as 0.9c/min to India without monthly subscription or validity period. There is little reduced quality, but it doesn't affect me much with a good Internet connection.
-Airtel talk again provides at 0.1 c/min with the worst quality. Call Drops. False charging. And no Refunds provided.

    Hello,

Skype is good for international calling but It is so expensive sometimes and also you can't call Skype to mobile or landlines. In this case Hellobhai.net provide the best VoIP service that are cheap, clear voice, No Hidden Cost, A TO Z Destinations, and Best Customer Service. So I recommended to hellobhai.net for International calling.

    Thank you,
    Hellobhai.net Team

My 2 cents, Not every ISP is good at blocking the sites. Zain for example will block anything and everything including proxy. Kems, wataniya,Fast telco, Gulfnet and the likes are pretty relaxed on that. So, there is a possibilty of what shakib said is true. But i really doubt if it is true.Nevertheless, personal attacks at others on a public forum not only degrades the atmosphere but only shows how immature and irresponsible one is.

@milespackers,if you dont want to buy it, just ignore it. Don't you see its getting personal.sorry to say this, but this is my observation of ur posts on other topics as well.If you can't be civilized then feel free to leave the forum and create one of your own

@ miles packer, to keep the respect of the forum and my dignity intact, I will prefer not to reply to your rude comments – i.e. cry baby.
I don’t feel any temptation to prove here that I am using skype, especially to ppl like u who are not willing to listen and will discover their ignorance one day – but still will not summon their courage to laugh at themselves. Similarly, there is no need to prove to those who are already using skype. I have at least a dozen of friends who do skyping regularly – most of them have created their skype accounts here.
Take another month to understand what i siad
