Twisted Tassels Variety Hour

Twisted Tassels Variety Hour, a brand-new live performance night featuring burlesque, drag, and comedy acts from across the lower mainland, has announced its kick-off event on Saturday, March 21st. For one night only, wacky and wild performances will leave audiences rolling in the aisles from laughter and tantalizing striptease will have them begging for more.

Event producer, Mae Magdalene - formerly known as Madame Mae I - was a once local mainstay in Vancouver's burlesque scene and produced regular fundraising events and acted as board member for the Vancouver Burlesque Festival. She has graced stages in Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Chicago, and won “Princess” and “Most Classic” in The Great Southern Exposure Burlesque Pageant. Mae Magdalene is thrilled to mark her return from a 7-year retirement with Twisted Tassels Variety Hour.

The event features Manda Stroyer of Vancouver's all Indigenous burlesque troupe, performers What Surname, Moxie Minx, and Mae Magdalene, local drag king Oscar Milde, and comedy from Jenny Hall of Magic Mic open mic comedy. Hosted by Sasja Smolders, regular Geekenders performer and Rent Cheque host, Twisted Tassels Variety Hour is guaranteed to be a night full of unexpected and utterly fabulous entertainment.
