Roustabout Theater's Uncle Vanya, March 16 - 31 at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts

Roustabout Theater's Professional Ensemble presents the West Coast premiere of Anton Chekhov's acclaimed masterpiece, Uncle Vanya, in a new adaptation by Conor McPherson ("The finest dramatist of his generation", Telegraph).

Directed by Clark Houston Lewis in a unique and intimate setting, Uncle Vanya features a stellar cast of North Bay actors: Bill Davis, Jared N. Wright, Sheila Lichirie, Tamar Cohn, John Craven, Dale Leonheart, Peter Downey, and Ilana Niernberger.

Vanya and his niece Sonya have devoted their lives to managing the crumbling family farm, visited periodically by their charming and idealistic neighbor, Dr. Astrov, when Sonya's celebrated father suddenly moves in, bringing his young and charming second wife with him. Suddenly the wrong people fall in love, lives unravel, opportunities evaporate and as the summer begins to wane, long kept resentments come home to roost. "Uncle Vanya" is a family reunion that only that master of irony and humor, Anton Chekhov, could help us clearly see and love.
